The Obermain Jura invites you to enjoy a variety of hikes around the Staffelberg. Well signposted paths lead through the typical Jura landscape with marvellous views over the Main valley. The ascent to the Staffelberg rewards you with an impressive panorama and makes every tour a special nature experience.
Thanks to our favourable location in the Upper Main Valley, cyclists will find ideal conditions for tours of all levels of difficulty. The Main cycle path leads along the Main in a relaxed manner - either towards Kulmbach or Würzburg. A city tour to Coburg is also an option. You can even easily reach Franconian Switzerland by e-bike and enjoy varied landscapes and scenic routes.
The baroque Banz Monastery towers impressively over the Main Valley and has an eventful history. Rebuilt in the 18th century by Leonhard Dientzenhofer, the complex served as a Wittelsbach castle for a time. Today, Banz Monastery is a modern educational centre with museums and exhibitions run by the Hanns Seidel Foundation.
The Vierzehnheiligen Basilica is one of the most important pilgrimage churches in Franconia. Built according to plans by Balthasar Neumann, it impresses with its extraordinary baroque architecture. Every year, around half a million pilgrims visit this special place, which belongs to the Archbishopric of Bamberg as a basilica minor.
The historic cities of Bamberg, Bayreuth and Würzburg are less than an hour away from us and are always worth a visit. Built on seven hills, Bamberg impresses with its imposing cathedral, the Old Town Hall in the middle of the Regnitz, the picturesque „Little Venice“ neighbourhood and a lively beer culture. A city full of history, charm and the Franconian way of life.
